Greenwich Jr. High Career Fair!

Yesterday was Greenwich Jr. High’s Career Fair and North Country Flowers was asked to participate! 25 different professions were represented. Kate and I brought flowers and containers so the kids could create while we talked! Hopefully, we inspired some of them to take a closer look at flower design as a future career! We’d love to see some of these students as interns here at the shop when they reach high school. We hope everyone had fun….we sure did!

Gerbs and Roses

Bright and fabulous are two words that spring to mind when looking at this bouquet! Amy picked the wonderful orange, hot pink, purple, and yellow mini gerbs to pair with beautiful white Polo roses, green Athos mums, and light plumosa greens…..a real winner!

Washington County Fiber Tour!

This weekend is the Washington County Fiber Tour, a great self-guided tour of the many farms throughout Washington County that raise alpacas, sheep, llamas, goats and bunnies. For a list of farms, maps, and directions, go to www.washingtoncountyfibertour.org. It is a fun day out, and fiber, fiber product and even animals are available for purchase. Farms are open Saturday and Sunday, 10-4.

Monica’s Spring Basket!

We are delighted that Monica will remain at North Country Flowers until the end of the school year! This week she was working on creating the classic spring basket, balancing colors and picking long lasting blossoms! She is developing into a very good designer indeed!
